In all likelihood the person Frank refers to here was actually Absalom Hellman, a bachelor who lived in the neighboring county (Miami). He is listed here on line 15 of the 1850 federal census. He was born in 1809 and would have been in his mid-forties at about the time of this trip. He is also listed as a bachelor in the same place in the 1860 census. He died in 1866 and is buried in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery, in Miami County.
